1971 Norton 750 Commando – Gus Kuhn

With about 21 hours left in this eBay auction, here’s a chance to own a classic Gus Kuhn Norton that is fully kitted out. It’s definitely not a show bike, and as the seller claims it starts easily and runs great this would probably be a great bike for Sunday morning runs up to Alice’s Restaurant. That being said, I’m sure this bike would attract a lot of attention if it was parked at any classic bike show.

Here’s a list of parts fitted to the bike

    Racing 850 Kit
    Updated AMAL MK2
    Tomaselli clip-on
    Morris mag wheels
    AP brake master cylinder
    Frame and motor number matching

While reserve hasn’t been met yet, I’d bet that there will be a few more bids before the auction ends. The price currently stands at $3,750 with 8 bids.

1976 Yamaha RD400 Kenny Roberts Replica

Is this a cafe racer? Not really.

Is it ultra-cool? Absolutely!!!

This is a really well-done Kenny Roberts replica that has been made street legal to boot. The look is there, and the seller’s description claims that the bike is fully mechanically sound (“IT RUNS PERFECTLY WITH A ONE KICK START”). Overall, this is one great bike up on the eBay auction block.

Bidding is currently at $4K on the nose with the next bid supposedly breaking the reserve. There are almost 4 days left in the auction with 14 bidders. If you’ve got +$5K burning a hole in your pocket, this bike could be yours…

1973 Norton Commando 750 Cafe Racer – Very Clean!

UPDATE: The auction closed at $8,201. Wow. Seems like it should have gone for more given the clean looks and recent rebuild of the mechanicals.
Up for auction on eBay right now is this super clean 1973 Norton Commando 750 that has been done up as a super clean cafe racer. The whole motor/transmission appears to have been rebuilt (photos of the motor internals), and lots of new parts have been installed. However, I think it is the aesthetics that make this bike stand out. This is just a flat out beautiful motorcycle. It has already moved above reserve, so someone will be buying this bike. Cool stuff!

35mm Tommaselli Clip-Ons

This is a nice pair of original Tommaselli clip-ons sized at 35mm. I would buy them for the SL350 project I have coming up soon, but I have no money for things such as this. 😦

Condition looks used, and I included the blurry picture from the listing just to show the Tommaselli logo. If you aren’t building up a concours-level cafe racer build, these are probably just the ticket. There’s also a steering damper bracket included in the auction, but 37mm seems like it won’t fit most of the bikes we might convert to cafe status. FYI, shipping is $14…

Goin’ Old School On Ya… 1965 BMW R60/2 Café Racer

So here’s a really nice bike. This bike has some nice kit on it. I like the Tomaselli clip-ons. But mostly I just like the overall package. Very clean, nice restoration, great period cafe racer. Buy it and ride it…

I will have to research Black Kat Motorwerks. If this is a good example of what they can do, then I am very impressed. Maybe in an upcoming post I will tell you what I learn.
