Alloy Cafe Racer Tank

A while back, I posted an SR500 that was located in Bangkok. Here’s a tank from the same seller. I am guessing that he gets his parts as factory seconds from Japan given that the last few tanks (and this one) have a repair made to them. However, the repair in this case is on the underside of the tank.

I tend to post a lot of tanks, as I think cafe racers are defined in part by the shape of the tank. I have to admit that my Sportster doesn’t have tank shape going for it. The peanut tank just looks plain out of place. When I get some money, perhaps I will order one of these…

Seeley CB750 SOHC Frame (and other stuff)

What’s my deal? Another project bike. But this one is way cooler!

I used to race in one of AHRMA’s modern bike classes (Formula 3 Twins), but I always wanted to race a cool classic bike. This would sure make a cool start to an AHRMA project!

Although the frame is the cool piece of kit in this auction, I really like the tank! I want to do something like that for my sportster, but I haven’t prioritized that high enough in my budget to do so…

And did you notice that I used the word “cool” three times in three paragraphs? Doh!

Custom 1975 Moto Guzzi 850 Cafe Racer

There’s several good cafe racers I found recently listed on eBay when I searched today. This one stood out as being an affordable example of one that could be ridden daily. The aluminum tank is sweet, even though it has a welded-in patch. I just really like the overall look the bike, and Guzzi’s aren’t a bike you see every day.
