2005 Triumph Bonneville T100 Cafe Racer

Here’s a fairly unique motorcycle due to the modifications it has received. According to the seller, it started its current life as a salvaged-titled 2005 Bonneville T100. However, it has undergone a lot of modifications which make it fairly unique for such a late-model Triumph.

First up and most obvious on the list of modifications are the polished alloy seat and tank. These are both very nice looking pieces that are supposedly from The Tank Shop in the UK. I personally think that the seat could have been made slightly shorter and the bike would look a bit better, but that’s personal opinion only.

Next up are those cool mufflers slung under the bike. From D&D, they supposedly help the bike achieve 58 WHP on the dyno with carb jetting being done as well.

Lastly, the suspension appears to have been gone through with the addition of a longer set of ultra cool shocks with reservoirs. The front end has been fully Race-Teched with the addition of springs and gold-valve emulators. Overall the bike is about 2 inches higher off the ground with better sorted suspension all around. I have done something similar to my own motorcycle, and it really makes a huge difference in the handling.

The long and the short of it is that this is a nicely built cafe racer that should handle the twisties nicely while providing a reliable ride what with it being built in 2005. If you can live with the fact it’s been salvage titled (and if you think you can get it registered in your state), consider bidding on this bike. The most expensive cafe racer ever posted on this blog…

Okay, I’m sure this isn’t the most expensive cafe racer ever. But it is definitely the most expensive one I’ve ever posted. And it isn’t even an auction. $25K Buy-It-Now. And it’s in England…

What we have here is a Hogbitz cafe racer that is easily one of the more expensive Sportsters I’ve ever seen. What a beautiful bike. Now that it’s spring, the bikes are coming out of the woodwork, and I get to blog about some pretty cool machines. Hogbitz, in case you didn’t know, is a British company that takes Sportsters through 2003 and converts them to cafe racers for a fee (About $12-13K USD including bike for their most basic conversion). What we are looking at here is a very nice conversion that is being priced appropriately, but perhaps out of reach for most of us. Hopefully. I can finish the conversion of my own 2005 Sportster to something like this for much less than $25K even including my original purchase price. I am intrigued to see if this sells…

Alloy Cafe Racer Tank

A while back, I posted an SR500 that was located in Bangkok. Here’s a tank from the same seller. I am guessing that he gets his parts as factory seconds from Japan given that the last few tanks (and this one) have a repair made to them. However, the repair in this case is on the underside of the tank.

I tend to post a lot of tanks, as I think cafe racers are defined in part by the shape of the tank. I have to admit that my Sportster doesn’t have tank shape going for it. The peanut tank just looks plain out of place. When I get some money, perhaps I will order one of these…
