1963 BSA B40 Project Bike

Here’s a nice little project bike that is already generating some interest in bids. It’s a 1963 BSA B40 that has been outfitted with a B44 motor. It is in need of finishing (hence Project Bike in the title of the post), but appears to be a relatively easy bike to complete. The seller claims the engine is running with all wiring in place, but I would ask questions before buying this bike.

Luckily, you have lots of time to ask questions as there are still over 6 days left in the auction. The price has already gone above $400 from a starting price $1, although reserve has not been met. And there are three people bidding so far. Perhaps this little beezer will generate a fair bit of interest…

1963 / 1978 Triton 750

Here’s a beautiful cafe racer that is the real deal. This full on Triton build is at auction on eBay with a current price of $6K with about 3 days left. I expect this bike to close much higher than the current price. According to the seller, it is a ground up rebuild with almost all new parts. It is missing the battery tray, so factor that in if you want this bike. Overall, a very beautiful motorcycle.

1963 Honda Superhawk Cafe Racer, Kind Of…

Not quite a frankenbike, but definitely a creative amalgam of Honda parts, this cafe racer is truly a nice piece of work. Diminutive and minimalist, there is nothing here that doesn’t belong. The front end is extremely well done, mating an old-school headlight/instrument nacelle to CB200 forks with a drilled out drum, with the narrow clip-on bars setting the stage for the rest of the bike. A lengthened CB200 tank stretches back to a narrow cafe-style seat, and low-ish 2-2 pipes complete the look.

What I particularly like about this bike is that it creates a classic and minimalist cafe racer in a way that probably didn’t break the bank. Sure, stretching the tank probably cost a couple of hundred, but there isn’t anything else about this build that goes crazy from a price standpoint. And best feature by far, the brass knuckle bonded to the ignition switch. Perfect for rumbles between the rockers and the mods!!!
