1977 Harley-Davidson XLCR (Daily Rider)

Unlike most of the Harley-Davidson XLCRs that come up for sale, this one is actually a daily rider (or at least that’s what the seller claims). But who are we to doubt this claim? And why would anyone claim that if it weren’t true?

Overall, it is a relatively clean bike, although it does have some indications of the fact it is no trailer queen. A few chips on the gas tank, road grime, and a reasonably used look are all indicators of this. But maybe the reserve is set lower than some of the other XLCRs that have been appearing on eBay lately. And you wouldn’t have to feel too bad about buying this bike and then riding it a bunch more…

Nice CB350T Race Bike

Here’s a nice AHRMA race bike being built by the folks at OhioCafeRacers.com and posted in the forums at CafeRacer.net. I like all the detail work that has gone into the build. I especially find the hand-built front fender pretty sweet!

They have also built a nice street version of this bike, as well. I’ll post that one soon…

XS650 Rear-Sets from TC Bros. Customs

I’ve seen these rear-sets on eBay for quite awhile. Almost all of the feedback for these items (and their other stuff) is very, very good. This seller also has a universal rear-set kit, but you would have to buy the linkage kit separately.

If anyone out there reading the blog has any photos of these rear-sets attached to their bike, please send a pic or two my way, and I will post…

CB750 Gas Tank (SOHC, I think)

This interesting gas tank appeared on eBay, and it’s had a small mod done to it that really makes it stand out. While it is a stock tank (so it will mount easily and perfectly), the seller has put two fairly good looking knee indents into the tank. They appear to be symmetrical, and the tank doesn’t show any rust in the third photo. Ask questions of the seller if you have any…

I think this is for the SOHC models of the CB750 (1969-1978?), but I would advise checking this out before purchasing.

Kawasaki Mach III H1 Cafe Project

Up for auction on eBay right now is the project bike that has the potential to turn into a really beautiful cafe racer. The seller has an okay description and more great pictures available in the listing, but the highlights are as follows…

Supposedly original Dunstall fairing, but has a few fixable cracks from a garage incident (see photo 4 below on the lower right side)
Hardly complete. Needs controls, front brakes, carbs installed/rebuilt, exhaust, foot controls, etc, etc, etc.
More work than it appears from first glance, but a great final outcome possible with enough elbow grease.

This seller also claims to have a garage full of bike (around 30) that he will be selling. I may try to contact him to find out what’s up with this collection being sent to the auction block. There might be some more potentially beautiful cafe racers coming up for sale!
